A single damaged oil seal may trigger hydraulic fluid spray (posing flammability risks) or lubricant contamination, ultimately causing engine cylinder scoring, bearing corrosion lock-up, and tens of thousands of pounds in damages. Conversely, optimised seals reduce friction energy consumption by 5%-10% and achieve 300,000 kilometres of maintenance-free operation through materials like fluororubber (temperature resistance: -40°C to 200°C). Failure warning: Early seal failure manifests as hydraulic system "sweating" (micro-oil seepage), piston rod surface abnormalities, or localised overheating. Grooves formed by bearing wear permanently reduce seal lip interference, rendering replacement ineffective against leakage. Installation requires vertical press-fitting with pre-lubrication to prevent lip tearing from uneven wear.
